SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

"To do more for the world than the world does for you - that is success" - Henry Ford

In September 2015, we announced our very first Voda Give Back Program where we donated & helped set up 3 sets of Voda Rainwater Harvesting Systems.

The creation of such efforts and efforts alike was to fulfill 2 key goals:-

To help meet daily water demands or save treated water

POTENTIAL RECIPIENTS INCLUDE:-

  • Orphanages

  • Old folks home or

  • Other NGOs or residence that have inadequate water supply to meet daily demands or would appreciate some monetary savings in water bill

To widely promote the practice of rainwater harvesting

POTENTIAL RECIPIENTS INCLUDE:-

  • Educational institutions (schools, kindergartens, universities etc),

  • Water conservation advocates/non-profit organizations or

  • Landmarks

  • Places of interest

We do so by setting aside a portion of our sales proceeds into a piggy bank we call "the Voda Fund".

Here's what we have been able to accomplish with the Voda Fund thus far.

Clean Rain

LIONS REACH AUTISTIC CENTER, PENANG

(also known as The Association of Resource and Education for Autistic Children)

Based in Penang, Lions REACh is free-service NGO that runs after-school programs for autistic children. Our donation was not only aimed at helping the centre achieve monetary savings in water bills (which would mean alot to an NGO nevertheless), but also to introduce an additional form of healthy vocational activity for its children.

"On behalf of the board of committee members, volunteers, teachers, parents and children of Lions REACh, I would like to thank Green Master Harvest for the donation of Voda Rainwater Harvesting System which will enable us to start a vegetable harvest in our centre as vocational training for adolescents and young adults with autism. The system also provided us with cost saving as we continue our operation within budget".

- Mr Lim Eng Chye, Charmain of Lions REACh & Recipient of the Voda Give Back Program.

SMK BERAPIT, BUKIT MERTAJAM

SMK Berapit was the selected donation recipient among participants who attended the Penang Green Council's inaugural Green Cafe Pocket Talk. The passionate teachers who applied for the donation, were present at the event with their students. Their strong enthusiasm in educating their students sustainable, electricity-free and eco-friendly ways of harvesting rain and saving water, was what set them apart from other nominees who applied.

"I will use Voda to educate and expose our school students to a more eco-friendly and cost-efficient manner of rainwater harvesting as this is one of the objectives of our Green School Program."

- Ms Farm, Teacher & Recipient of Voda Give Back Program.

PROFESSOR CHAN

Dubbed the "Water Man", Professor Chan Ngai Weng is president of Water Watch Penang and is widely-known for his relentless water conservation campaigns and advocacy.

It was an honor and privilege for the Voda Team to have Professor Chan's stamp of approval on the Voda Rainwater Harvesting System.

"Water was cut for nearly half a day when Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang (PBA) carried out pipe repair works yesterday. But we had no problems as I have installed Voda Rainwater Harvesting Systems. The water is filtered before being collected. My daughter had her shower here after coming back from school. Voda helps save water, money and the environment."

– Professor Chan Ngai Weng,  President of Water Watch Penang, Water Conservation Advocate & Recipient of the Voda Give Back Program.

SMJK DINDINGS, SITIAWAN

A joint-donation with Rotary Club Sitiawan, the large scale Voda Cylinder Rainwater Harvesting System installed for SMJK Dindings is helping the school flush its 16 toilets, and thus, is achieving dramatic savings in water consumption and water bill for the school.

"We would like to thank Green Master Harvest for designing such a cool rainwater harvesting system for our school - which is helping us save 50% of water costs."

- Mr Chia, Principal of SMJK Dindings.

LIM KOK WING UNIVERSITY

For the Voda Team, "giving" does not only constitute offering donations but also creating educational platforms where we can impart knowledge on rainwater harvesting and how to incorporate such environmental-saving feature in structures and buildings with ease.

Here's our Founder & Innovative Director, Sit Heng Yeen, sharing with aspiring architects about sustainable rainwater harvesting solutions at Lim Kok Wing College University's Architectural Faculty.

METHODIST GIRLS SCHOOL

It is another badge of honor to have Voda Rainwater Harvesting System installed in one of the most iconic and oldest school in Penang - Methodist Girls School. It is fulfilling that Voda is not only helping the school reduce its water consumption, but it is also used as an effective tool by teachers to educate school children on the importance of natural resources and the urgency of saving water.

"Although Penang is not facing any critical water shortage, it would be great to teach our students to utilize natural resources and save water."

– Pn Angela Ang,  Teacher & Recipient of the Voda Give Back Program.

GREEN CAFE POCKET TALK

Our Co-Founder & Director, Low Pui San, had the opportunity to be the first presenter of Penang Green Council's inaugural Green Cafe Pocket Talk, where industry players share their latest green technologies, products, experience and education with the local community.

During the informative session, she shared with participants insights on the impending global water crisis and how mankind will be affected by it in the years to come.
